A bit about our history

Jo and Chris Munro returned to Tauranga in the 1980s and purchased Versatile Products, a small automotive paint company operating out of the back of a van. Close to four decades on, their commitment, dedication, and passion to support and grow local businesses is still the driving force behind what is now known as Versatile Paints & Adhesives. The company remains proudly locally owned and run by Jo Munro and her experienced and valued management team.

We've always placed quality at the heart of everything we do, and our people are focused on delivering the best quality products, service, and solutions. As an independent family-owned and run company, we have a team of dedicated Technical experts who spend every day looking at everything from the performance of the products we sell to identifying new and innovative products with a focus on practical solutions and advice, and helping customers achieve the best results with high ethical and quality standards.

A bit about our products and point of difference

We offer a huge range of products, from paints and coatings for multiple applications including residential, marine, automotive, and industrial, to abrasives, sealants, adhesives, and tools including Festool power tools.

We may be the most chosen specialised independent supplier in Tauranga, but that doesn’t allow us to rest on our laurels. We are dedicated to the industry and offering new and innovative products, and our family ownership structure allows us to take a long-term approach to how we do business. Unlike so many competitors, being a local independently owned family business we've been driven to fiercely retain our autonomy and independence. This has been instrumental in enabling us to continually supply alternative niche products, and tailoring solutions for individual customers.

A bit about location and getting in touch

Our expanded trade shop located at 13 St John Street, Tauranga was opened in 2023 to provide our customers a greater range of stock and faster accessibility, making us the largest independent paint and adhesive store in Tauranga and servicing the surrounding Bay of Plenty.

• Our store is open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday).

• We deliver Monday to Friday from our Tauranga store and through our on-road team.

• We welcome all trade and retail customers.

• Emergency/out of hours delivery can be arranged by negotiation.
